Painted Petals - a new favourite!

This morning I am mostly catching up with some long overdue blog posts. I realised I need to go back quite a long way to get up to date and this is going to take a while. So in the meantime - here is a little treat for your eyes. A quick post showcasing my current favourite new Stamp Set in the latest Spring Summer catalogue: Painted Petals. LOVE IT!

This was the first card I made when I opened the stamps.

The flowers have a soft water-colour effect and are so easy to use because it doesn't matter how well (or not!) you ink up the stamps - you get a really subtle image which almost looks like it's been painted. You can create lovely water-mark backgrounds too using the same colour ink as your card - in this case Soft Sky...

The one below is stamped first with white craft ink onto crumb cake card and stamped over the top with blackberry bliss ink. It makes the ink colour stand out more brightly and also you get a lovely shadow effect where the white shows through.

I'm taking colour inspiration from the coordinating 12x12 papers Painted Blooms. The colours in this pack include Blackberry Bliss, Rose Red, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi. These papers are SO beautiful you can even use whole sheets of them in a frame to beautify your home! Go on - get a pack - you need them in your life!
