Craft stall projects

One of my goals for 2012 is to have a craft stall!  I have been looking online for ideas of simple things to make which I could sell.  I'd love to come up with some original ideas, but for now I thought I'd have a go a couple of tried and tested projects.

Firstly mini clipboards.  These are coasters (6 for a £1 from The Range - I love that shop!!) which I covered with Sweet Shop papers, a bulldog clip covered with the same papers, and post-it notes.  I just LOVE these papers which are in the Summer Mini Catalogue

Second - Post-it note holders with a mini pen.  Took some experimenting to score the card exactly in right place to make a perfect fit - but that's because I didn't follow any tutorial or instructions from the Internet!  I made 6 of each design.

As I make more items and build up my 'stock' I move closer to my craft stall goal!!

Get Well Card # 2

I was asked by my colleague to make a get well card for his one year old nephew who's been really poorly.  I wanted to make something cheery and cute so I used a window layout with some owls peeking through.

The owl stamp is from an old sale-a-bration set Punch Bunch. This is the inside...

Hope you get well soon little un!

Products used:
Stamps: Punch Bunch, Sincere Salutations
Inks: Soft Suede, Marina Mist marker
Papers: Subtles Paper Stack - Marina Mist used
Card stock: Old Olive, Whisper White

Get Well Card # 1

My grandma-in-law hasn't been very well recently  and we wanted to send her some get well wishes.  I made this card using the pretty Everything Eleanor stamp set.

In an attempt to make a bit more effort with this one I decided to try out a technique I've never tried before - masking! It didn't work out perfectly but was a decent first attempt. You can see the green flourish looks like it's behind the blue plaque - this involved stamping the plaque onto scap paper and cutting it out and using the cut-out to cover the actual stamped image while stamping over the top with the flourish. Sorry that's a really rubbish explanation - I needed pictures really!

I also used the spritzer tool to add a speckle of Marina Mist ink over the card and embellished it with  pearls.

Products used
Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Sincere Salutations
Inks: Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Lucky Limeade, Basic Grey
Card stock: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Basic Grey
Embellishments: Stick on pearls, Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine
Equipment: Scallop Edge Border Punch

Crafternoon Tea coming soon!

My first ever card class is on Sunday 15th July!  It will be held at Cafe Village in Calverley, Leeds.  The class combines my two favourite pastimes - making cards and drinking tea - in an afternoon of crafts and cake!  I hope this appeals to other people in and around Calverley too.

You can see more details on my classes page, but please do get in touch if you want to come along because you'll need to book your place in advance and places are limited.  Looking forward to seeing you there!!

A quick post just to show you the father's day cards I made this weekend!  I wanted to try out the cute origami shirts I have seen online - I searched for a tutorial on you tube and found they were really straightforward!

The shirt is made from lovely striped paper from the Mocha Morning designer series.  The background is stamped using the 'Dad' from For My Family and the sentiment is from the very versatile Teeny Tiny Wishes set - which has a stamp for nearly every occasion!!
